The Govt. of India has made education for children in the age group of 6-14 years compulsory.
Hunger & poverty restricts the underprivileged children for getting the full value of the educational experience as most of the children do not get to eat even one meal a day.
Mid Day Meal is a strategic program to liberate the under privileged children from scourge of hunger & mal nutrition. This program is a project of Govt. of India and is being implemented by ISKON Food Relief Foundation under the Brand name of School = Lunch in Govt. aided & Municipal Schools.
The sponsorship cost is Rs. 900/- per child for the whole year. In the areas where Midday Meals is not provided – Project to start a new kitchen is proposed with the support of the entire district clubs.
Guidelines
Each club should sponsor 100 children for Midday Meals.
