Lata Subraidu, born in the political capital of India Delhi, Lata did her schooling in JB Vachha Wadia High School and is an alumnus of Ruia College. Excelling in, she has a flair for languages and the performing arts, elocution and debating. Although her mother tongue is Hindi, she speaks Gujarati, Marathi and Telugu.

She has done diploma courses in French and German. A talented artiste she had acting assignments in T.V. serials, Hindi and Gujarati plays. Her oratory skills saw her as a voice-over artist, dubbing for advertisements, serials and short films. Trained in Indian Classical singing, she still continues her riyaz.

Her fitness and energy levels are due to her daily fix of Yoga, Spiritually influenced by Vedanta Philosophy she is a life member of the Vedanta Mission. Lata ran the “Buttons N Bows” boutique in Lokhandawala, Andheri West, patronized by Film stars and TV artists, until she changed her vocation to Event Management. She is also proprietor a property consultancy Firm, Larrissa Properties.

In 1993 she was invited to join RC of Bombay Bandra to become the first Lady President of the Club in 1994. She has been an integral part of many governor’s team. She is the first Lady Rotarian to have achieved so much in Rotary. She made a mark in the district as the TRF chair both for support and programs.

Her last assignment the Rotary Service Week was a thumping success endorsing her commitment and dedication to the cause of Rotary.

She is a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow, recipient of the RI Four Avenues of Service Award and District Service Award Five times over.

With her trained voice and command over number of languages, her flair for shero shairies. Lata has been a speaker on many inter-city fora as well as the district assemblies and conferences, fireside meetings and orientation for boards of directors not only of Rotary but Lions Club and Giants too.

Widely travelled abroad, she has imbibed the internationality of Rotary. She is married to Ram who is a consultant for exports of Dyes – Intermediates while son Sanjay owns a travel business. She has a 13 yr old adorable grand daughter Sakshi.
