Rotary District 3140

My fellow Rotarians,

2nd August marked the end of the 65 Installations. It also marked the beginning of the OCV’s. Spanning a few months, it is a journey to the heart of every club in the District. Presenting itself as a break from the frenzied pace was the Inter District RYLA in Goa. It was truly spectacular to see the kids perform some tough projects as a team.

Further to that, the overnight picnic at the Retreat with the whole Core team and Members from the different clubs was a great way to cement the Force XI camaraderie.The Iftaar party was a unique event that got great attendance, despite the heavy rains. Members from as far as Dombivli, Dahisar, Borivali attended the same. This Iftaar party was hosted by several South Mumbai clubs, with the lead host being R. C. Mumbai Downtown. The short presentation by Rtn. Muchalla, on relevance of fasting and a very noteworthy observation from the Holy Quran, was heard by all with rapt attention.

The year has taken off well. The Rotarians of Bhiwandi put special efforts to convince few household members, who had never taken polio drops to do so at the SNID on 22nd August. This was preceded by very important meetings of Doctors, including Unani medicine practitioners for presentation on Polio. I commend all the Rotarians who came out in large numbers, to man the different Polio booths in the District. My compliments to some of the clubs that have already adopted a street in their area. We hope to come out with a list in the next GML.

We all seek a sense of fulfillment in life and to achieve it, we have to find harmony between our inner self and the outer self. The inner dimensions are our desire, our will and our spirit. Our outer dimension is the actions we take and the images we create. So move on confidently and firmly toward the targets you have set for yourselves.
